In the video above I demonstrate a quick bodyweight workout for runners you can perform any time, with no equipment!
We all know that one of the keys to staying injury free as runners is to keep on top of the various strength and mobility exercises that build our bodies to withstand the demands that come with running mile after mile in training.
Building this resilience as a runner will enable you to train consistently and achieve your running goals!
One of our readers recently left a comment on our YouTube channel recently asking for examples of time-efficient strength workouts. I thought this was a great idea, and I wanted to take it a step further!
Bodyweight Workout for Runners
I want to show you a quick bodyweight workout for runners that not only hits most of the major running muscle groups, but also requires no equipment.
Most of us are relatively time poor, so this quick routine will provide massive bang for the buck in terms of building strength, stability and mobility for us runners! As I describe in this article, regular strength training is in my opinion key to remaining injury free for us runners. You can download some more example running strength workouts here.
Let me know how you get on… 😀Last updated on March 7th, 2021.
The great workout!
I’ve been doing physical therapy for a labral tear and the exercises in this video are among the main exercises I do routinely that have not only brought back my strength, but help me to maintain it. I feel stronger as a runner and am a firm believer in these exercises! Love that they are quick and that you can do them without equipment.
